The third chakra is our power center. This is where we will feel discomfort when our self-esteem is low or when we cannot “stomach” what is happening in our lives. The organs involved in this energetic space are the majority of the digestive tract (stomach, intestines, colon etc.). The colour that will heal and strengthen this area is yellow. Just like with all the chakras if you meditate on, wear clothes or items, or eat foods that are the colour of the chakra it will help release blocks and strengthen it.
If you perceive someone’s words or actions as a personal attack then it might feel like “a punch in the gut”. That is because this third chakra (located near our diaphragm) is the center of personal power, self-confidence, motivation, and courage.
If you want to help clear or boost this chakra, a mediation or visualization exercise you can do would be to imagine a beautiful ball of glowing yellow light (like the sun perhaps) inside your diaphragm area. As you allow the light to grow bigger and expand from within to without, repeat to yourself all the traits you admire about yourself and the good you bring to the world. If this area is really blocked or stagnant then you might not be able to think of anything at first, and that’s okay. If this happens just repeat to yourself in your thought voice (or outloud is even more powerful): I am worthy, I am deserving, I am whole. Repeat this over and over again until it feels true and until that beautiful ball of yellow light bursts forth and surrounds you. You may feel the shift in your energy or your mood, but if you don’t feel anything… don’t worry! Energy is unseen and therefore trust that it is doing the work on your behalf whether you feel the transformation or not.
Paint a yellow picture, eat or drink lemons, bananas, or yellow root vegetables, wear a yellow shirt, or cosy up under a yellow blanket. If no yellow items are available, just imagine your stomach area surrounded in a blanket of yellow energy and this will be just as efficient.
It is difficult to stay in your power when you are surrounded by negative people or situations. If you find lots of digestive issues (including, but not limited to: constipation, IBS, issues with the liver or colon, eating disorders) it may be worthwhile to look into how you speak about and think about yourself internally and in the world, as well as the things and people that surround you. Are you in a place surrounded by people that help lift you up? If not, it may be time to consider some changes to your phyiscal or mental surroundings.
Sending you all a (physically distanced) yellow hug today.
Happy Thursday and thanks for stopping by. May you be lead to all the people, places, and things that joyfully grow your soul.
